Real Judgement

In terms of judgment and the final judgment a better framework is discernment. Judgment is from the Greek word crino. A fuller richer definition would be discernment, differentiation, distinction. So when God first creates the Earth he divides the light and the dark and "judges it as good" that it is good that it is part of divine activity. Discerning between right and wrong is part of our divine mortal activity so we can progress and choose to want to do right. Elder uchtdorf talked about judgement in a very different way where he said the day of judgment will be a day of mercy and healing. In Corinthians Paul says Jesus Will judge us so he need not  condemn us. 1 Cor 11:31 For if we would be more (discerning with ourselves) , we should not be judged.    32 But when we are judged, we are (changed) of the Lord, that we should not be condemned with the world.  Judgment is that process by which we are brought to recognize distinctions and how they have operated in our ...

Not Wicked BUT Wounded

In the 1830 version of the book of Mormon this reads 'woundedness'.  Plain and precious things that were removed were the true nature of God the Father as a suffering, vulnerable, weeping God. You take those things out and we live a life of fear and perpetual woundedness.  32 Neither will the Lord God suffer that the Gentiles shall forever remain in that awful state of blindness , which thou beholdest they are in, because of the plain and most precious parts of the gospel of the Lamb which have been kept back by that abominable church, whose formation thou hast seen.

why doesn't God make it obvious? Pt. 2

On April 6th 2022, I journaled with the same title. Why doesn't God make it obvious that He lives and He is directing His church. Or at least so obvious that people can't deny it. Then I thought, He DID in the OLD TESTAMENT. With the children of Isreal and their escape from Egypt. Moses even recaps it in Duetermony 4. It's blatantly obvious that there are  huge tactile, visual and nourishing miracles. But people STILL fell away and did the exact opposite. God has done this before has tried this before people have their agency no matter what miracle God performs.

Listen to A Prophet?

It is not because they are learned, or have achieved professional success, or have traveled widely, that one should listen, but because they are “called of God... "

Greatest Tragedy

In this chapter you will study another Old Testament tragedy, but in this case it was a national tragedy. The Israelites had been led out of the power of the greatest empire in the world at that time. They had been personal witnesses to plagues that afflicted the Egyptians but left Israel untouched. They had with their own hands smeared blood on the doorways of their homes and then heard the cries of the Egyptians as their firstborn fell. They had walked between towering walls of water that divided at the command of Moses, then watched as those walls collapsed on the armies of the pharaoh. They ate bread that miraculously appeared each morning, drank water gushing from a rock, felt Sinai quake, and saw it glow with fire. What people in all of history had greater witness that God was with them and would use His unsurpassable power in their behalf? They had so much and were promised so much more. Then came the choice. In one foolish, blind, faithless choice this generation of Israel lost...

Reframe your resentment

Embrace every aspect of yourself. Search around for stored up anger. If you are fearful about discovering your anger, remember that your power is buried along with it. Anger is only a negative emotion when it is suppressed or dealt with in an unhealthy way. When you have compassion for yourself you can easily allow all aspects of yourself, Your Love and your anger, to coexist inside you. Whenever I'm judging myself or others I know I'm holding on to it negative interpretations of a quality or an event. It is essential at times like this to let myself express my emotions in a healthy way.

Facilitator Empathy - Kevin - Cam

A wonderful remarkable thing happened tonight at the meeting. Cameron asked me and told me afterward how I was able to provide incredible empathy for Kevin. I hadn't realized that I had grown exponentially in empathy and compassion for members of the group and customers. When the meeting got started Kevin what's rambling about his drug and lust addiction having his car stolen relapsing and not knowing how to work the steps and get out of the muddled mess. I felt strongly in my mind the words quote don't try and fix him unquote and felt like it was good for him to speak be open and vulnerable and realize what he wanted to accomplish moving forward. And though it wasn't a specific time to share in the framework of the meeting I would damage or halt the flow of Kevin's recovery in that moment if I were to stop him. I called him quote you are repenting by coming to the meetings and being honest and open quote. I was very grateful for Cameron to recognize this and ask ab...
