Lives in Context.

Christ Heals That Which Is Broken         By Amy A. Wright While the Savior was teaching in the temple, a woman was brought to Him by the scribes and Pharisees. We do not know her full story, just that she was “taken in adultery.” Often the scriptures give only a small portion of someone’s life, and based on that portion, we sometimes tend to exalt or condemn. No one’s life can be understood by one magnificent moment or one regrettable public disappointment. The purpose of these scriptural accounts is to help us see that Jesus Christ was the answer then, and He is the answer now.

Doing It: What Matters Most

Do What Mattereth Most Rebecca L. Craven Excerpts from her talk.  I had a sweet experience with a darling young woman who asked a very sincere question: “Sister Craven, how do you know that anything about the Church is true? Because I feel nothing.”    Before jumping to an answer, I first asked her some questions. “Tell me about your personal scripture study.”    She replied, “I don’t read the scriptures.”    I asked, “What about with your family? Do you study Come, Follow Me together?”    She said, “No.”    I asked about her prayers: “What do you feel when you pray?”    Her answer: “I don’t pray.”    My response to her was simple: “If you want to know anything, you will have to do something.” Isn’t that true with anything we want to learn or know? I invited my new friend to start doing the gospel of Jesus Christ: praying, studying, serving others, and trusting in the Lord. Conversion won’t come while doing nothing. It comes through the power of the Holy Ghost as we intentionally make

Don't get all preachy on me..

God said to preach his gospel. But that verb has some negative connotations. People don't like to be talked down to or feel like they are being judged. Share, listen, love, serve, be an example are much better verbs that describe the very basic essence of preaching like Step 12 says: 12. Having had a spiritual awakening as the result of these Steps, we tried to carry this message to sexaholics, and to practice these principles in all our affairs.

Why doesn't God make it obvious?

Why doesn't God make it more obvious to his children that He lives and witness more to His church?
