conquerors through him that loved us.

Chapter 20 The Ammonites and others attack Judah—Jehoshaphat and all the people fast and pray—Jahaziel prophesies the deliverance of Judah—Judah’s attackers war among and destroy themselves. we can praise God that Jesus Christ has fought the battle for our salvation and to rescue us from the judgment of God that we so rightly deserved. This makes us more than conquerors in Jesus Christ because He fights the battle and defeats our foe, and we share in the spoil. Romans 8:37 Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us. 2 Chronicles 20: 20-21  So they rose early in the morning and went: This showed that they really did believe the prophecy from Jahaziel. It was one thing to profess faith among an excited assembly; it was another thing to actually walk out to meet the enemy armies. As they went out before the army: The singers and worshippers led the army into this battle. It was clear that Judah expected a battle because they brought the army. Yet it was

2 Chronicles Serve God where you are.

2 Chronicles 17: 11-19. Amasiah the son of Zichri, who willingly offered himself to the LORD There is no lawful occupation in which a man cannot thoroughly serve the Lord. It is a great privilege and blessing to be set apart to the work of winning souls; but we must never separate that work from all the rest of the callings of life, as though it alone were sacred, and all the rest were secular and almost sinful. Serve God where you are.” (Spurgeon)

The Shack

Pg. 108 “Now here I am telling you about my kids and my friends and about Nan, but you already know everything I am telling you, don’t you? You’re acting like it’s the first time you’ve heard it.” Sarayu reached across the table and took his hand. “Mackenzie, remember our conversation earlier about limitation?” “Our conversation?” He glanced over at Papa, who was nodding knowingly. “You can’t share with one and not share with us all,” Sarayu said and smiled. “Remember that choosing to stay on the ground is a choice to facilitate a relationship, to honor it. Mackenzie, you do this yourself. You don’t play a game or color a picture with a child to show your superiority. Rather, you choose to limit yourself so as to facilitate and honor that relationship. You will even lose a competition to accomplish love. It is not about winning and losing, but about love and respect.” “So when I am telling you about my children…?” “We have limited ourselves out of respect for you. We are not bringing t

Killing our will

2 Chronicles 4:1 The idea behind the Hebrew word for  altar  is essentially, “killing-place.” This was the place of sacrifice, the center for worship and service for the priests and the people. i. “Just as in the tabernacle, the altar was the first main object to be met as one entered the sanctuary court. It demonstrates that God may be approached only through sacrifices.” (Payne) ii. We also have an altar:  We have an altar from which those who serve the tabernacle have no right to eat  ( Hebrews 13:10 ). Our altar – our “killing-place” – is the cross, where Jesus died for our sins and we follow by dying to self and living for Jesus.

A Remission

I'm Robert Kinghorn for those who don't know me. About 12 years I met a beautiful woman. Her name was Renae and she was from Peachtree City. One of the first things I noticed about her, was her beautiful tan knees. And beautiful smile. We become friends, then girlfriend/ boyfriend, then broken up, then back together, then engaged, then married. Then Living, then disagreement, then making up and happy again and the cycles continues and as we grow together.  For example, by the raise of hand, how many couples sleep with separate blankets? I sleep with a light blanket. Renae likes to sleep with the equivalent of 1000 lb michelin man marshmellow duvet that if you tossed it over Michael Phelps (the best Olympic swimmer in the world) in the pool he would surely drown.  I didn't know this was a thing until I got married. Happy, miscommunication, disagreement, makeup. This is a pattern with the person I love most. I also love God and Jesus Christ. And I have a similar pattern with

Atomic Habits

Pg 26 The purpose of setting goals is to win the game. The purpose of building systems is to continue playing the game. True long-term thinking is goal-less thinking. It’s not about any single accomplishment. It is about the cycle of endless refinement and continuous improvement. Ultimately, it is your commitment to the process that will determine your progress. Pg 27 You do not rise to the level of your goals. You fall to the level of your systems. If your systems are not daily or at least weekly and incremental it's very difficult to change yourself and your habits. No one 'goes to the gym once a week for 5 hours ' or 'brushes their teeth once a month for 1 hour' because we know small daily efforts compound into change.  P. 36 Over the long run, however, the real reason you fail to stick with habits is that your self-image gets in the way. This is why you can’t get too attached to one version of your identity. Progress requires unlearning. Becoming the best versio
